Consulting on the choice of crane technology

In assessing which version / type of crane is appropriate to address your needs, the following recommendations should be taken into account:

SINGLE GIRDER:
– load capacity up to 15t
– there are no specific requirements regarding the height of the hook in relation to the rail on the crane track

DOUBLE GIRDER CRANE:
– the lifting height plays a decisive role (h>10m)
– installation of additional electrical equipment on the bridge
– difficult operating conditions require a regular presence of a maintenance worker on the crane, which requires the installation of the maintenance platform along the crane

FEM regulations categorize cranes into several operating classes, marked by 1Bm, 1Am, 2m, 3m, 4m.
For each operating class the normative conditions include:
– frequency of the occurrence of maximum load
– number of cranes (start-ups)
– operating time (hours in a shift)

General guidelines apply for a quick assessment of operating classes

1 Bm, 1Am – occasional use, maximum load occurs only occasionally (regular servicing, maintenance of process equipment)
2 m – operation in one or two shifts, cranes are a part of the production process (supporting machine tools, used in welding, the ambient temperature does not exceed + 40C, frequent maximum load lifting)
3m – operation of the crane in difficult conditions, in particular: working in 3 shifts, the crane is an integral part of the production process, the temperature exceeds + 40C.
